St. Agnes Parish Religious Education Program/CCD is a process of religious formation for our parish children in grade levels one through seven who attend public school. At its core are the tenets and traditions of our Catholic faith. This Faith Tradition is steeped in a heritage which acts as a springboard into greater spiritual and personal growth.
PREP also encompasses preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.
Our PREP classes are vibrant and enthusiastic because of the prayerful dedication of our catechists and aides. These volunteers provide a faith-filled environment based on their own love of our faith and their desire to share and witness their faith with the children.
Parents are afforded an opportunity to renew their own faith foundation through parent sacramental meetings and by studying grade level information with their children.
Registered families of the parish community are encouraged to enroll their children in our PREP program.
Our primary and middle school age children gather from September to April on either Monday or Wednesday evenings for an hour and a half.
Adults are encouraged to be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in their faith lives and consider becoming part of the Parish Religious Education Program in some capacity.
Prayer is an integral part of everything we do in our PREP classes – both with our children and with and for our volunteers.
We are all involved in God’s work and his great plan.
In the spirit of Stewardship we are called to ask ourselves:
- What have I been given?
- What is expected of me?
- What can I do?
- How will I to respond to God’s call?
